McIntosh Lane, located in Littleton, Massachusetts, is an open-space residential subdivision permitted as a Planned Residential Development Subdivision allowing the houses to be clustered.  Doing so has guaranteed the creation of 14 acres of protected open space. The project was permitted concurrent with an adjacent Comprehensive Permit site, thus enabling connection of the sanitary sewer to the wastewater treatment plant via a low pressure sewer collection system. Some of the challenges for this site included the negotiations with the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program to protect and restore the habitat of a state-listed species of salamanders in a acre Open Space Parcel Services provided by Places Associates, Inc. included the design and permitting process in coordination with the Planning Board, construction support services for the subdivision roadway as well as individual lots, and the final as-built and permit close-out of the project.
